So much so that even the bears have started wearing horns and fake hooves so that they fit in a little better. A tame CPI figure on consumer inflation helped things steady and then a less-bad homebuilder survey allowed the run to continue higher. Oil prices ramped up on <a href="http://247wallst.com/2009/09/16/shaking-it-up-in-weekly-oil-inventories-oih-uso-oil/">lower crude inventories</a> as well. Revenues dropped over 20%. Adjusted income was 35 cents per share versus 50 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.</p>
<p>As can be seen, Adobe is still suffering from the economic downturn. Not only did sales decline on a year-over-year basis, but they also dropped sequentially.Thankfully, management was at least able to beat expectations by a penny, as indicated by data at <a href="http://www.earnings.com/company.asp?client=cb&amp;ticker=adbe">Earnings.com</a>. Adobe also did relatively okay with operational cash flow. </p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/09/16/adobe-was-challenged-in-q3-but-will-a-new-acquisition-add-value/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Adobe was challenged in Q3, but will a new acquisition add value? </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/09/16/adobe-was-challenged-in-q3-but-will-a-new-acquisition-add-value/">Adobe was challenged in Q3, but will a new acquisition add value? </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 16 Sep 2009 14:40:00 EST. With more data coming out this morning, the upbeat sentiment about the economy might be tested. Still, deal action from Adobe Systems further pushed positive sentiment.<br /><br />Bernanke said Tuesday that the <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/2009/09/15/bernanke-says-the-recession-is-likely-over-but-it-wont-feel/">Great Recession has "very likely" ended</a>, but he also warned that growth may be too tepid to cut the unemployment rate significantly anytime soon. "It's still going to feel like a very weak economy for some time," he said.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/09/16/before-the-bell-futures-higher-on-bernanke-comments-adobe-omni/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Before the bell: Futures higher on Bernanke comments, Adobe-Omniture deal</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/09/16/before-the-bell-futures-higher-on-bernanke-comments-adobe-omni/">Before the bell: Futures higher on Bernanke comments, Adobe-Omniture deal</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 16 Sep 2009 07:45:00 EST. So he teamed up with a friend, John Pestana, to create a company that helps put together web pages. The company eventually became <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/omniture-inc/omtr/nas">Omniture</a> (Nasdaq: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/omniture-inc/omtr/nas">OMTR</a>), which is a top player in web analytics .<br /><br />Well, the bet has paid off. Today Omniture <a href="http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/invrelations/adobeandomniture.html">sold out</a> to <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/adobe-systems-incorporated/adbe/nas">Adobe</a> (Nasdaq: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/adobe-systems-incorporated/adbe/nas">ADBE</a>) for a cool $1.8 billion. Omniture's shares ended the day at $17.32.<br />

The good news was low inflation, the <a href="http://247wallst.com/2009/06/17/is-that-inflation-in-your-pocket-or-are-you-just-happy/">lowest in over 50 years</a>. <br /><br />But agriculture stocks were hammered on overseas competitive news about <a href="http:// http://247wallst.com/2009/06/17/potash-and-fertilizer-stocks-skunked-by-news-from-germany-pot-mos-mon-agu-cf-ipi-moo-syt/">weak pricing and demand</a>. Was it enough? Well, not exactly. According to the <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/06/16/adobes-q2-profit-expected-to-fall-on-weaker-sales/">earnings preview</a>, the market was betting on Adobe to make just that amount. Yep, it's that whole confusing Wall Street thing. Meet expectations, and you don't really pass the test. </p>
<p>Meeting expectations in this climate should be considered cool, though. And let's not forget that the software company did okay on the revenue side. Sales came in at roughly $705 million. The market was expecting about $10 million less. </p>

<span style="font-style: italic;">TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says these stocks have become too expensive without takeovers and a more robust economy. </span><br /><br /> One after another after another, these software charts are amazing. And, I might add, a bit scary. How did <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/mcafee-inc/mfe/nys">McAfee</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/mcafee-inc/mfe/nys">MFE</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=MFE">Cramer's Take</a>) make that kind of move just on security software? Didn't <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas">Microsoft</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas">MSFT</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=MSFT">Cramer's Take</a>) just say -- admittedly for the 4 millionth time -- that it was going to give away free anti-virus software? Or <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/citrix-systems-inc/ctxs/nas">Citrix</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/citrix-systems-inc/ctxs/nas">CTXS</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=CTXS">Cramer's Take</a>)? What's that all about? How could it return to those levels? <br /><br /> There were rumors of a <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/cisco-systems-inc/csco/nas">Cisco</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/cisco-systems-inc/csco/nas">CSCO</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=CSCO">Cramer's Take</a>) takeover a week or two ago, and, amazingly, when it didn't come true, the stock hung in. <p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/06/15/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-techs-unjustified-super-bull-market-r/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cramer on BloggingStocks: Tech's unjustified super bull market run </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/06/15/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-techs-unjustified-super-bull-market-r/">Cramer on BloggingStocks: Tech's unjustified super bull market run </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 15 Jun 2009 09:50:00 EST. What counts is what's likely to happen six to nine months out. And for that reason, ADBE is worth a review.<br /><br />In general, analysts expect Adobe's 2009 revenue to fall roughly 15-20%, on soft Creative Solutions unit sales. Sales of Creative Suite 4 are running about 20% below CS3, primarily due to the recession. In particular, the recession in advertising has sapped any momentum for the first half of F2009.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/06/09/investors-know-theres-more-to-adobe-than-the-acrobat-reader/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Investors know there's more to Adobe than the Acrobat Reader</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/06/09/investors-know-theres-more-to-adobe-than-the-acrobat-reader/">Investors know there's more to Adobe than the Acrobat Reader</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Tue, 09 Jun 2009 10:30:00 EST. The markets screamed higher again today on the heels of some <a href="http://247wallst.com/2009/05/04/pending-home-sales-show-great-comfort-xhb/">very solid housing data</a> and that has the bulls firmly in charge again.
